The purpose of this project was to create a story of our own and create a stop-motion piece to bring it to life.
On days where I’m not making digital designs, I also love doing hands-on crafts so I thought it was a great opportunity to exercise those skills along with videography. I created the character, and all the props of the video with materials I found in the dollar store and in my home.
The project allowed me to be more patient with myself and reminded me to trust the process because all the little details were worth working hard for. In addition, I was able to better visualize certain videography skills, such as shooting from various angles and being intentional with where things are shot. This project was nominated for “Best Overall Motion” for the award ceremony at my graduation from Vancouver Film School.
